Research
Our research is focussed on the elucidation of the energy landscape of proteins, determining their folding (structure) and conformational dynamics (function). As physicists (by education or by heart), we aim at finding general rules for the organization of the energy landscape. To this end we apply methods of molecular biology, optical (mainly single molecule fluorescence) spectroscopy, and computer simulations.
People
We are a team of open-minded people from all disciplines in science and non-science. We work together, we drink lots of coffee together, sometimes we party together, but there are also things that we do not do together. Unfortunately, there are no mountains close by, so we did not ski together so far...
